Using a Magic Mouse: how to stop zooming

SOLVED

When I'm navigating around a map, I find that it is very easy to zoom in/out by inadvertently touching the top of the mouse; the map keeps getting unusably large or small. I cannot find anywhere in Settings to modify this behaviour.

Does anyone know how to stop or minimise the impact of this scrolling behaviour?

Thanks,

Roger

Hi Rob,

I use Safari and was definitely having the "instant zoom". But your updates have fixed the problem too.

Usability is much, much better now.

Thanks,

Roger

Ok,

I will have a look into it, keep you posted.

Rob

Thanks! Works perfectly with Chrome. Firefox doesn't like it. I haven't tested other browsers.

Hi Roger & @vanderhoeven,

this problem, which only occurs in Google Chrome on a Mac, has been resolved, zooming and scrolling should now work as expected on a Mac.

Rob

Thanks Rob, this works much better! Is there any possibility to add left/right scrolling also? I have some big (wide) maps and scrolling is currently restricted to up/down. Many thanks.

@vanderhoeven,

ok, made another adjustment, you can now scroll to the left and right holding the shift key.

Rob

Same issue here for the magic trackpad (and trackpad on the macbook). Swipe up or down is currently assigned to zoom function, while this should be scrolling. Zooming would ideally be a finger pinch gesture. See https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT204895
